Play By The Rules is an interactive training and information website that promotes positive "Sporting behaviours' in sport and recreation clubs and associations by providing information on how to prevent and deal with inappropriate behaviour including discrimination, harassment and favouritism, bias and various forms of abuse.
The Play By The Rules website has recently been completely upgraded. The site contains information on a range of issues that coaches and administrators may face either every day or at some stage in their involvement with a sporting club, including team selection, unfair treatment, bullying, managing risk and cultural differences. There are also links to relevant articles and online training is available too.
One of the best things about the site is that it is extremely interactive and identifies scenarios and lets you make the right (or wrong) decisions on how to deal with them.

At the launch of the new website held on 5 October 2005, AFL Tasmania signed an agreement with the Minister for Sport and Recreation to incorporate Play By The Rules module in Level 1 courses for Coaching and Officiating. Game Development staff will use the on-line learning programs for training in harassment, discrimination and child protection.
Congratulations to AFL Tasmania for supporting such a great resource.
