Community education

The training team at the OADC liaises and works co-operatively with not-for-profit community organisations, community groups, schools, colleges, other educational institutions, unions and interested individuals to provide a range of FREE training and information sessions.

Community information sessions, workshops and engagement forums aim to promote non-discriminatory practices and empower those groups who are most likely to experience discrimination, harassment and bullying.

Sessions can be designed to focus on a range of human rights issues such as those affecting:

  • people with disabilities,
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people,
  • ethnic and religious minority groups,
  • gay, lesbian, bisexual & transgender and intersex communities,
  • young people,
  • seniors,
  • women & men.

Customised Training

OADC customised training programs are also available for community organisations, wherever possible consideration will be given to a fee reduction subject to the nature, size and capacity of the organisation to pay for training.
