'Who said I can't...' 2007 Publication

By its nature, disability, or impairment is non-discriminatory in who it targets; it can enter our lives without invitation, at any time. And suddenly, without warning, or apology, something we take for granted can be diminished or taken away.

In ‘Who said I can’t...’ we glimpse into another persons’ world and read how ordinary lives can become shattered in a simple moment. We gain an appreciation of how through an individual’s spirit, willpower and at times sheer bloody mindedness their life becomes an extra-ordinary one.

Regardless of the impairment or disability overcoming the hurdles takes strength, perseverance and a belief in oneself. Another ingredient that assists in conquering the obstacles and challenges faced by people with a disability is the tolerance, acceptance, patience and understanding of the wider community.
