Community Radio Broadcasting Sessions

The OADC is continuing to expand the initiative introduced in 2007 to present regular broadcasting sessions with various community radio stations across the State.

The community radio stations that are participating in the initiative are:

7THE (96.1 FM)
Mondays at 10.30am

HUON FM (95.3 FM)
Every 2nd Tuesday at 11.10am

Launceston City Park Radio (103.7 FM)
Every 2nd Monday at 12.30pm

Tasman Radio (97.7 FM)
Every 2nd Wednesday at 12:30pm

Coast FM Radio (106.1 FM)
Every 2nd Tuesday at 10:15am

Southern Midlands (97.1 FM)
Monthly, 2nd Monday at 10:30am

A staff member of the OADC presents a different topic each segment that provides information about the types of discrimination and prohibited conduct that are unlawful under the Tasmanian Anti-Discrimination Act 1998. 

The topics include:

  • Sexual Harassment
  • Disability and Irrelevant medical record
  • Gender, Family Responsibilities, Parental status and Pregnancy
  • Victimisation
  • Transexuality
  • Industrial activity
  • Age
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Marital status and Relationship status
  • Breastfeeding
  • Offensive conduct
  • Race
  • Irrelevant criminal record
  • Inciting hatred
  • Political belief or affiliation and Political activity
  • Religious belief or affiliation and Religious activity
  • Association with a person with a prescribed attribute

  • Play By The Rules - Online learning resource about how to prevent and deal with discrimination, harassment and child abuse in sport
